We all have goals and dreams to be successful in life. Our current desperate situations often lead us to get ahead as fast as possible. And so even as Christians, we overlook God’s will and Kingdom ways and follow the world’s ways. In today’s blog post, I’ll quickly share a thought on these “get rich quick schemes” that lead to more destruction, even with the temporary solutions.
“Desiring to get rich as fast as possible is not Kingdom nor wise”; ”Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows over time. Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life.“
Proverbs 13:11-12 NLT
God puts a dream in our heart to lift ourselves/our families out of poverty, right? And then He gives you an awesome idea and calling to be an entrepreneur.
The number one temptation is to do it FAST. To get rich as quickly as possible.
Why? Well, we can lie to ourselves and say because God wants me to be rich to help others. Right? But not to the expense of us putting ourselves first than God. Not at the expense of our health or abusing others.
There are so many lucrative business schemes out there but if your heart and character is not built to sustain the growth, you will fail and fall.
I experienced success in the digital marketing industry but my heart was not quite ready for that, and thank God I failed! The road to building up my character not just for the digital biz but business in general was long and arduous— “wilderness journey” is an apt definition.
Thank God He saved me from much more income success because my heart was not completely aligned to His yet. And I am still continuing to grow, but the pride and fear of man has gone.
If we chase after money, it will quickly pass away.
If we chase after God and His Kingdom, all those other things will be added to you. (Mtt 6:33)
So today, choose God first always before money.
